Study history of development (colonialism decolonialization and development, postwar and the rise of the third world), definitions of development, capitalism, classical and neo-liberal development theories, discourse of development, marxism and neo-marxism development theory, dependency theory, crisis in development thinking, (alternative development) grassroot development, actor-oriented paradigm, postmodernism and development, postdevelopment concept, globalization and development (global marketplace, commodity chains, global networks, social dimensions of the global marketplace), global system interdependence, social space and place in development processes.
